Manitoba is a short film by Mirka Duijn, Nina Spiering and Marieke de Blaay. It has had it's grand premiere at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam.
Manitoba is a short movie about Frank (Raymond Thiry) who washes ashore on a strange island. He seeks refuge in the only pub of a desolate village; cafe Manitoba. Unfortunately the cafe is not the safe haven he had hoped for.

MIRKASTAN
Mirkastan is a travelogue in real time, a twitter narrative of a journey from Amsterdam to Tokyo via Serbia, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan (sort of), Uzbekistan, and China in the Spring of 2009.
Like the individual frames of a film, a larger story is built by tiny flickers of twittered text, in which each is individually significant, but which combine to create an abstracted moving image of the experience being portrayed.
